Great Portable Stove – It Is What It Says Ok – well here is the deal with me. I haven’t long bought this stove. Ive been thinking to buy one a couple of years (on/off) because for travel, I am unable to take a pressurised canister (most light weight stoves) and certain stoves fittings are incompatible abroad. Fuel types are problematic sometimes with buying what you need. So, I thought a simple solid fuel cooker could easily be maintained and fed with fuel for next to nothing, anywhere I went. So why this one? I was motivated primarily by the price because most of the other machine made stoves cost in the region of £60-80. This was a penny under £17. I had even contemplated making my own, having saved a few dog food tins for the task. First impressions – wow! Straight out the box, it looks nicely made and polished. I really like the mesh bag that came with it. There is an option to use alcohol fuel or solid fuel with this cooker. I haven not taken it camping yet but have fired it up in the back garden a number of times…

A true example of value for money Probably one of the most versatile pieces of outdoor equipment you will ever buy. The stove can be used with foraged wood or scrap wood from pallets or offcuts from joinery work, it doesn’t matter if the wood has nails in it because the stove cannot get blocked. Alternatively if you have a trangia type spirit burner, (which is very likely) you can pop that inside the stove on those very wet days when it is difficult to forage dry wood or when you just want to make a quick hot drink. If you do not have a spirit burner don’t worry the manufacturer has your back, the stove comes with a stainless dish in which you can burn solid fuel tabs, gel fuel or meths. In my opinion if you can’t make good use of this stove while you are out you shouldn’t be allowed out.Good job Anself.
